Locking Periods

The ability to restrict postings to specific ledger periods is set-up in the General Ledger Configuration form. General Ledger periods can be set to the following:

• Open - accepts journals from any source
• External Locked - only accepts General Journals
• Global Locked - no posting accepted

Attempting to post to locked periods reports as follows:

• Period Lock For - Year; Date; Period (External lock)
• Period Global Lock for - Year; Date; Period (Global lock)

Steps

1.	General Ledger Configuration Setup
2.	Select the relevant year from the Periods list box
3.	Set the lock against each relevant period
4.	Save changes
